A Few Changes

As you may have noticed, I've added a few small Google Adsense ads. I'd like to take a few moments to explain the reasoning, and what I am hoping to accomplish.

When I started Adipose Fin seven months ago, I didn't know what it would become. The truth is, it hasn't changed much since day one, but I have enjoyed sharing truth, lies, and photographs with anyone who’s cared to read.

Generally, my readership is very low. This is mainly the result of my lack of consistency. I am determined to write the best content I can, and doing so takes me a lot of time. If that means it’s a week between posts, it’s a week between posts.

When starting Adipose Fin, I wanted something more that what is offered by free solutions like BlogSpot, WordPress, etc... It was important to me to have a custom domain and more control over the site.

Ultimately, this means this site isn't free. With a new baby in the house, I can't simply just keep a website going as a hobby, as much as I wish Adipose Fin could be ad free forever. I do not expect that the few ads I have will pay the full bill of the website, but I'll have to see.

Its also possible I'll start working on some saleable items, possibly some stickers, flyfishing products, or limited edition prints.

In the end, I want you to know that I appreciate your readership. If the ads bring up something that is interesting to you, by all means, follow the links provided by Google. Please be aware that I cannot, at this time, control what ads are served, but if you see an ad that you consider offensive or distracting in any way, please take a note of who the ad is directing you to, and report it to me using the Contact form.

Additionally, you'll notice I've added the Facebook "Like Button". If you're a Facebook member, and you think some of your Facebook friends may something you read here, please take the time to click the "like" button. If there is some other social network integration you would like to see, please let me know and I will try to add it.
